Ann Wilkening

Back in 2017, Ann introduced herself via email, “I have the gift of a lot of inspiring women in my life, so I love the new Wonder Woman card. I have ordered 10 and will be ordering more. Would it ever be possible to create a similar card for men featuring Superman? I would love to send it to the men in my life who have worn their capes well without realizing it. Thank you for your time and especially for all the amazing cards.”

As it happens, Meanings of Life artist Joanne Friar was already working on just such a design at the time, so we were thrilled to be able to add to the card back that it was “Made with Ann Wilkening and her men in mind.” Ann’s response: “Tears of joy! My husband of almost 49 years and my son are truly my Supermen!”

Ann reached out again in June of 2022. “Oh the joy of being a Cardie!” she said. “I’ve been remiss in sending a picture for my profile because, in the last couple of years, I’ve had three major operations and am finally on the mend! Throughout all of this,” she said, “I’ve been sending your cards and magnets which have brought joy. Your magnets and cards are a beautiful and economical way to tell people I care on any occasion.

“I’ve set a goal of gifting 100 of the Never Underestimate the Difference You Make magnets. I went back through my orders and I think I’m at 75 magnets. If my Fairy Cardmother could please verify my count, I would appreciate it. For every magnet I’ve given out, I’ve received gratefulness. 💕”
