Kristen Caminiti

Contributing Cardie Kristen is the visionary who created Kindness Grows Here, a not-for-profit that actively offers simply powerful ways of promoting kindness in local schools and communities. The international organization supports teachers with a host of resources for enacting kindness campaigns, including age-appropriate books, videos, and handouts on a variety of key topics.

Cardthartic is honored to support Kristen and her initiative, partnering with her in any way we can. And eloquent Kristen, well, 10 of her messages grace Cardthartic cards! We especially love the story behind the Educators design, inspired by a conversation she had a few years ago with her then six-year-old son Zach.

Kristen shared the story with us, “As we drove by our local fire station, Zach asked, ‘Mama, what do you think is the most important job?’ I said, ‘That’s a great question, bud. A lot of jobs are important. Which do you think is most important?’ Given that we’d just passed the firehouse, I’d expected to hear, ‘Fire fighters!’ but, instead, he paused for quite a while, clearly thinking about it before saying, ‘Well, I guess it is teachers. Without them, no one anywhere would know how to do any job.’” Out of the mouths of babes!

Zach and his three sibs clearly have a wonderful role model. In 2017, Kristen took her master’s in social work and created Kindness Grows Here. She’s since grown it into an organization serving 26 states and four countries.
