June 10, 2025 – The yogi bear card above is dedicated to Cardie Yogi Teri Meskin, who you see with her great smile in the upper right. As you may know, when practicing yoga, every pose will have a counterpose to bring the body into balance. With everyone so tightly wound lately with all the tension in the world, we’re thinking some hearty laughter may just be the counterpose we need today!
Some of you may remember when, back in 2020, CEO Ana and I initially invited any community member who could make it to practice Cardie Yoga with us and our wonderful instructor Paola Villegas free via zoom, MWF, 2-3 ET. That class is still going strong, and all are welcome. It was in 2022 when Teri wrote to say, “I really want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for inviting me and all the Cardies to join Cardie Yoga. Not only did it help me get through the awful isolation that COVID wrought,” she shared, “it also helped me recover from breast cancer surgery last year and has certainly brought more peace and balance into my life.”
Fast forward a couple of years and, at the start of class one day, Teri shared, “When I went for a massage and stretch session last week, the physical therapist mentioned that he thought I was incredibly flexible. I assumed he meant flexible for the 71-year-old woman that I am, but no, he insisted that I was flexible for a 31-year-old woman!! Imagine that!! I told him all about Cardie Yoga.”
So last fall, when our Creative team saw the image of the bear in “seated toe touch,” we thought immediately of Teri and her card-worthy accomplishment. I still chuckle every time I see it. And just like yoga has more advanced poses, the card + gift industry has the more hilarious publisher Paisley & Parsley Designs.
Like Cardthartic, they proudly produce in America and, I’m telling you, when I start feeling like a Crabby Appleton around here, I’ll sit down and read through the big bowl of their coasters that I have, and laugh and laugh and laugh! Feels sooo good.
While I only know Teri from yoga — and, there, we keep the cameras off and just say a few fun hellos and goodbyes — I’m sensing she’s far too kind to relate to the more snarky of these (as I do quite easily :) And fair warning, Paisley & Parsley does not shy away from four-letter words.
Whether it’s yoga or watching hysterical YouTube videos or creating a great care package with a card and coaster or two, we’ve got to find our own ways of balancing the world news, about which so many of us care very deeply. We’d love to hear how you keep your cool, if you care to share in the comments below. On we go!

We should all be as flexible as you, Teri!
I keep my cool by drinking lots of raspberry lemonade with
honey in the summer and by reading the Cardie newsletter,
hilarious coasters and all. What fun!
How wonderful to see our fellow yogi Teri being highlighted. We only see that we’re in class together and hear each other’s voices but we feel a strong kinship. I also love those hysterical coasters. Such an uplifting newsletter Jodee. Anyone hesitant about joining our yoga class, it is a wonderful experience, even if you only learn how to do breathing exercises, the class will benefit you. I’m not flexible but I know that the class is helping me both physically and spiritually and I’m so grateful for Cardthartic, Jodee and Ana offering this to their customers.
