Mar 18, 2025 – If you’re one of the many Cardies who’ve requested that we bring these three postcards back, here you go! We’ve now given them their very own category, so see SHOP > Designs by Interest > Advocacy.

And for everyone in the Cardie Community who knows great, active advocates and realizes how much it would mean to them to receive a little recognition for their efforts, in that same new Advocacy category you’ll find a good many applicable designs — cards that acknowledge the truly hard and tedious work that canvassing can be! Speaking for Cardthartic, we greatly admire those who are “honoring emotions” and making their feelings on issues important to them known in this way.

Altogether, caring Cardies have already written and mailed more than 100,000 of these three designs. When we ran out of Vote and Please Listen last fall, as a small business we had to determine whether to reprint them or not and, moreover, reconsider our practice of offering them FREE. Demand has been so high lately, though, that we decided to heed the call of Cardies who’ve said, “Please Listen” to us and reprint and then sell them at our cost of 10 cents each.

Cardie Whitney Weddell prompted that decision with her recent email saying, “I love the PLEASE LISTEN postcards I ordered in the past, and would like to place a bulk order for more. Your website add-to-cart only goes to 99. Could you do 500? If so, please send me an invoice and a link to pay. Thank you!” Such passion! And power of persuasion! We gave word to our printer that same day.

At a dime apiece we cover our costs and the price is still accessible. According to Contributing Cardie Gloria Dougherty, the amazing advocate who first led us down this postcard path, “Don’t sell yourselves short; 20 cents could give you a teeny profit but still be great for the buyer. The cost I’ve paid varies, but $26 for 50 seems fairly common. But your postcards are still the best!!! Please Listen is so eye-catching! And I like VOTE, too, as a whole side is devoted to writing space.”

That design decision is thanks to Contributing Cardie Roxann Hassett. She’d emailed us back in the summer of ‘22 to say, “As I am nearing retirement, I’m spending more time as an activist. I volunteer with a few voter registration organizations and, being a huge fan of Cardthartic, I am inspired to write and ask if you’d have any interest in creating postcards for volunteers at the various postcard project organizations?”

When we said, “Let’s do it!” she advised, “Make the entire back blank to allow for a longer message or larger handwriting. Many of the organizations I’m writing with have set scripts that are lengthy and, when our handwriting is small, I’m concerned recipients might toss the card instead of reaching for their glasses.”

Talk about reaching, Gloria recently shared, “ I think I need to take a break as I feel postcarded out. I have written 600 or more of late, many on the VOTE and Please Listen cards I still had on hand. I’m still reaching out to lawmakers to end gun violence; sadly not sure there is any end in sight. 😢”

Gloria closed with, “I received a lovely email about a recent campaign from Nancy McGinn. I recognized this fellow Cardie’s name from the Cardie Newsletter and responded and we laughed about how we are connected thru the Cardie Community!”

That felt good. Onward and upward!
