AUG 29, 2019 – Isn’t it heartwarming how — when you’re faced with real challenges — your best cheerleaders jump up and rally around? I know the more people hear news of upcoming hurricane Dorian, the more sweet, “Be safe!” messages arrive here in Cardthartic’s Miami-based creative studio — from family, friends and caring Cardies like Carla Schmitt.

Carla emailed from South Carolina this morning, “Thinking of you and Liz and Hannlis as you possibly deal with Dorian. My extensive experiences with hurricanes make me ever-aware and watchful of the unwelcome storms. Take care there!”  While thanking Carla, I also assured her that Creative Coordinator Liz began predicting a crazy 2019 hurricane season for us back around mid-January, so she’s preparedness personified. Creative Director Valerie “ran out early to get hurricane stuff and gas before everything runs out … you know the seniors and soccer Moms hoard. :)”

And Hannlis — oooh, our Hannlis — walked up just as I was unloading four cases of bottled water from the car. Who knew what versatile little devices walkers are! Or maybe it’s just that, at nearly 96, Hannlis knows and shows, “Girl, You Got This!”

Thanks for your concern and good wishes, Cardies. We’ll do all we can to stay safe. Meanwhile, if you’d like, post in our new Comments section what your go-to words of encouragement are when you’re in loving cheerleading mode. Chances are, there’s a card in there somewhere. Yay!
