June 13, 2024 — We want to quick thank all the kind Cardies who have reached out with concern that we’re staying safe and dry through the rainstorms and flooding in Miami, home to our Creative studio. Thank you!
While it’s indeed a hazardous mess out there, truth be told, I’ve not gotten a drop on me as I’ve been holed up all week with some li’l bug that’s making the rounds. Before the next rain wave hits, Creative Coordinator Bianca just ran to the grocery to grab more foodstuffs for her voracious 12-year-old son, Ben — what a first week of School’s Out! he’s had — then popped by and picked up a carrot cake that thoughtful friend Gregory made to make our day. Yay! We’re now set for the duration. All is well.
Now, for those wondering how wet it really is, we thought we’d let these pics of sweet Gracie girl tell the tale.

Oh my Gracie is still adorable even when she’s totally drenched. Sorry to hear you’ve got some virus, but glad to know you’re all safe and dry.

Better to waste the rain & flood stuck inside with a bug & your sweet Gracie girl than feeling lousy inside when it’s warm, breezy & sunny outside! (My feline boys, Kangaroo & Dexter, chuckled when they saw Gracie in her “raincoat!” I say, “hey, whatever works!”)

What fabulous photos of Gracie! It’s been raining “cats and dogs” here in Slovenia, as well. Lots of flooding along the Adriatic coastline. Think of you often and hope you continue to stay high and dry.

Egads! First my brother and sis-in-law’s house near Houston got hit by a tornado (though thankfully they
were uninjured by all the shattered glass and flying debris) and now my friends in Florida are swimming for
their lives.
Jodee, I hope you’re sending that bug packing. The pics of Gracie make me smile because she is always so
stinkin’ cute, even dripping wet . “Into every life a little rain must fall” . . . hence, God made raincoats?

I hope you have been able to enjoy the carrot cake! So good with coffee or hot tea as the rain keeps you inside. We are hitting record highs in Alabama this week, but enjoying our air conditioned house. And I am mailing Cardthartic cards on a daily basis: a birthday card to my best friend from high school.
