284 Butterfly Flat LayNov 5, 2024 — Having had the good fortune of getting to know many of our community members over the years, we’re pretty sure there’s no need to use this Cardie Newsletter to get out the vote. You’ve either already voted, or you’re on your way, or you’ll be tirelessly volunteering at the polls today! 👏

Instead, we want to invite you to take a few minutes with us this morning to do what CEO Ana often has us do when setting new goals, hopes, and dreams for Cardthartic. She’ll say, “Let’s put it out into the Universe!”

So, what if we each just sit in our own silence for a moment and imagine that it’s November 5th, 2025. After closing your eyes and taking a few deep breaths, picture what you’d like American life to look like a year from now. Envision and, if you choose, write what it is you want to come from this election.

Last night, I whispered my wish that, a year from now, “kindness will have prevailed. Each evening, I’ll be eager to catch the news for exciting reports of progress in Congress. On the floor of the House, true respect is shown, ideas flow, and great give-and-take leads to effective solutions.

“A year from now, I hope far more Americans understand and appreciate that companies like Cardthartic are able to better serve customers thanks to the world view of our colleagues born in Argentina, Brazil, Crimea, and Venezuela. And that my niece and all parents are able to see their kids off to school in the morning and not have to give their beloved children’s safety another thought all day long …”

You’ve heard of the butterfly effect? How Stuff Works describes it as “the idea that small, seemingly trivial events may ultimately result in something with much larger consequences … for instance, when a butterfly flaps its wings in India, that tiny change in air pressure could eventually cause a tornado in Iowa.”

We hope you’ll whisper your wishes for our world today and then trust that, just by putting those collective hopes out into the Universe, this little Cardie Community will together help bring about big, beautiful change.
